How do stakeholder networks shape Hubs4Circularity (H4C)? How can information flows be managed more effectively to support the transition to a circular economy?

On 16 January 2026, our Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice webinar brought together researchers and practitioners to explore the social dynamics and management in Industrial Symbiosis (IS) and Industrial-Urban Symbiosis (I-US) projects.

The session featured insights from the IS2H4C project, highlighting how stakeholder networks evolve within Hubs4Circularity, the drivers and barriers influencing H4C implementations and the use of social network analysis, and regional input–output modelling to better capture the socioeconomic effects of H4C projects.

Overall, the webinar highlighted the importance of understanding people, partnerships, local economic impacts, and regional dynamics when making industrial symbiosis work in practice.

Speakers included:

Aidana Tleuken, University of Twente, The Netherlands (presentation)
Introductory presentation: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sebastian Engell, ZEDO, Germany
Panel moderated by Juliana Queiroz, ZEDO, Germany

Thank you to everyone who joined the discussion and contributed to the exchange of ideas on advancing Industrial (Urban) Symbiosis across Europe.
