New handbook available: Supporting the implementation of Hubs for Circularity (H4C)
The H4C Europe project has published the “Handbook for supporting the implementation of H4C”, a practical guide for organisations and stakeholders working to develop, implement and scale Hubs for Circularity across Europe.
The handbook brings together knowledge, methodologies, tools, lessons learned and practical insights generated throughout the H4C Europe project and related activities. It supports stakeholders involved in Industrial Symbiosis (IS), Industrial-Urban Symbiosis (I-US) and Circular Economy initiatives.
It covers the main stages of H4C development, from the initial exploration of regional opportunities and stakeholder ecosystems to the incubation, deployment, monitoring and scaling of H4C initiatives. It addresses key aspects including:
- understanding the H4C ecosystem and identifying relevant stakeholders;
- collaboration and governance models;
- collaborative business models and value creation;
- funding and financing opportunities;
- evaluation, indicators and maturity assessment;
- barriers, enablers and key drivers for implementation; and
- practical tools, templates, case examples and supporting resources.
The handbook is designed primarily for facilitators and coordinators of H4C initiatives, industrial clusters, regional initiatives and other collaborative ecosystems. It may also be useful for industrial companies, local and regional authorities, research and technology organisations, industry associations, investors and policymakers.
As H4C initiatives can emerge from different starting points and maturity levels, the handbook is not intended to be read from beginning to end. Instead, readers can consult the sections most relevant to their role, objectives and current implementation phase.
The “Handbook for supporting the implementation of H4C” is now available on the H4C Knowledge Platform. Access the handbook here.
