Last week, a group of invited plastics recycling experts from industry and research institutions in the H4C Community of Practice discussed animatedly existing bottlenecks for increasing the uptake of recycled content by the EU polymer industry.
It became clear that plastics recycling can be technically and economically challenging and that different polymers need different solutions. These solutions have to be developed jointly between the process industry, the manufacturers of finished goods, and the waste collection and handling sector.
