On 12 November 2025, the Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice team was at an event organized by the RISERS Project – the “Plenary of the Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap Working Groups”, a key element contributing to a broad range of EU policy initiatives:
- Circular Economy Action Plan
- EU Standardisation Strategy
- Waste Framework Directive
- Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation
Our partners Sebastian Engell (Technische Universität Dortmund & A.SPIRE Chair) and James Woodcock (International Synergies Limited) shared insights on the potential of industrial symbiosis for Europe’s industries, systemic enablers and practical pathways to uptake, and the latest developments in the Community of Practice.
Why does it matter? A shared standardisation roadmap is critical to scale industrial symbiosis across sectors and regions. The Hubs4Circularity Community of Practice is proud to support this effort with other EU projects driving a more innovative and sustainable EU industry.
Thank you to the organisers, speakers and participants for an excellent event!
